On June 1st, 2004 a new design law became effective in Germany. The handbook "Leitfaden nationales Geschmacksmuster" (Guide to the German Design Law) by Sven-Erik Braitmayer (DTS Munich) offers a quick overview of all important regulations and legal terms of the new design law.

Opposition proceedings against German patents will continue to take place before the Federal Patent Court - the time limit for this proviso was extended from December 31, 2004 to June 30, 2006 (more).
